Check out the part about Joe’s Discount Taxidermy. I made a static page, unlinked in this blog to anything. In 6 hours after placing the CL ad, that page ranked #4 in Google for “discount taxidermy” out of 1.45 million results. Of course, you won’t see it in the Google results now, because it wasn’t related to discount taxidermy at all. The only link to that page was a CL ad. With only a CL ad, it reached #4 in Google of 1.45 milion results in 6 hours.

Why don’t corporations do this? For the same reason you won’t see Rolex watches at WalMart – product valuation. WalMart could sell Rolex watches, but Rolex doesn’t want their name to become affiliated with “cheap”. THey also don’t use CL ads, because they don’t have to. I do a lot of ecommerce work and I would never put an ad for it on CL, because: 1) I cost too much for the average CL budget (starting at 5 figures) 2) people who advertise their web services on CL are usually not very good 3) I don’t need to.

For each country’s domain, you’ll have to change parts. India seems to have a unique Yahoo system.
